FAQ
What is a BimmworksFlasher remote tune?
BimmworksFlasher is our own flashing software that lets you flash our tunes yourself wherever you are in the world. Right after your purchase, you receive a link to download BimmworksFlasher and its step by step user guide. The process is simple, you read your stock calibration and send it to us. Once received, we customize your tune and send it back to you for flashing. Our tuning software is easy to use and runs on pretty much any Windows based devices like most laptops. All you need are:
- A Windows PC.
- A high quality K+Dcan cable for E-Series or a ENET cable for F-Series (see details below).
- A car battery charger (30A min. recommended).
What is a K+Dcan cable and which one should I use or buy?
It is a USB to OBD2 interface device that allows diagnostics, coding and programming for E-Series BMWs.
All high end K+Dcan cables with ediabaslib firmware designed for flashing tuning will work with our remote tuning software.
Caution, not all K+Dcan cables offers the same flashing reliability. Cheap cables that are generally found on Ebay/Amazon are not suitable as they are designed for coding and basic programming only, not flash tuning!
Here are our customers most appreciated cables:
- Bimmergeeks Expert Cable (K-Line and OTG adaptors aren't needed).
- Bimmer Tuning Tools (Ebay listing so make sure the seller is bimmertuningtools).
- Ecuworx Pro Cable (European seller).
What is a ENET cable and which one should I buy?
It is a Ethernet to OBD2 interface device that allows diagnostics, coding and programming for F-Series BMWs.. These cables can be found anywhere on the net for pretty cheap.
How long until I receive my tune file?
No automated off the shelf files here! Once your stock ECU calibration file or Identification file is recieved, an engineer takes the time to build your custom tune just like you want it, so it may take up to 3 business days before you get it. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, UTC-5.
How can I get support if I need it?
Please be sure to read the entire user guide first! We spent so much time writing them, make sure your question isn't covered first. If you still didn't get the answer to your question, contact us via our Facebook messenger or by email support@bimmworks.com.
For how long can I request a revision?
All revisions must be requested within 30 days of the purchase date. All requests after 30 days are at buyer's expense.
Should I also pay for a liscence?
Nope! Our software is free to use and will always be! You only pay for the tune file(s) you order.
Is there a warranty?
There is no warranty on tuning.
I sold my car, can the new owner request tune revisions?
No, tunes are linked to the original buyer. If the new owner wants tune support, he needs to purchase his own tune.
Will my car pass emissions, will it be legal on the road?
Our performance tunes are engineered for competition and offroad use only.
If you remove any emissions parts, expect your car to fail inspection / emissions testing.
Bimmworks hereby disclaims any liability resulting from the failure to use these parts in compliance with all applicable laws. The buyers takes full responsibility of the use of these products on their vehicles which may or may not conform to all applicable laws and regulations for on road or highway use.
